Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy

Radionics delivers the fastest IMRT package on the market. This module, in conjunction with the Radionics MMLC™ Mini-Multileaf Collimator, allows for precision conformal dose distribution to treat complex, irregularly-shaped tumors impinging on sensitive, normal tissue. The combined system is all it takes to produce and deliver optimally-shaped conformal treatment plans.

The planner specifies dose or dose-volume constraints for normal and target structures, as well as penalties for overdosing or underdosing. When the program is activated, a quadratic objective function is defined, which minimizes the difference between actual and desired dose for each voxel contained in the anatomes.

Radionics IMRT average calculation times run extremely fast — less than 1 minute, versus the 20 to 30 minutes required by other systems.

Automatic Segmentation and Delivery

Radionics IMRT includes a built-in sequencer optimized for the physical characteristics and limitations of each MLC. Automated electronic interfaces for Varian™, Siemens™, and Elekta™ accelerators allow hands-free, fail-safe synchronization and delivery.
